Daytime burning is still prohibited
Muskoka’s fire danger rating has been lowered to moderate. That means small, recreational campfires are now allowed across the district, but only between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. Daytime burning remains off-limits.
Fire officials are reminding residents to be cautious: keep fires small and well away from buildings or trees, never leave them unattended, and always have water nearby to put them out completely.
The Muskoka Association of Fire Chiefs will continue monitoring conditions through October 31.
