The home invasion ended up closing Hwy 11 in both directions
Huntsville OPP are investigating an armed home invasion that happened early Tuesday morning in the Hillside area.
Officers responded around 5 a.m. on July 1, and the situation quickly escalated, forcing the closure of Highway 11 in both directions and a hold-and-secure order for the area.
Specialized units were brought in, including the OPP’s Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, canine and aviation services.
Six people have been arrested, but investigators believe others are still at large.
Police are also searching for a silver Honda CRV with Ontario plate CZFE 895.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Huntsville OPP or Crime Stoppers.
The investigation is ongoing, and police say residents should expect a strong presence in the area.
