The District is exploring rental partnerships with developers
The District of Muskoka has launched a new “Chair’s Spotlight on Housing” series, led by District Chair Jeff Lehman, to showcase efforts to make housing easier and more affordable to build.
The first edition focuses on rental solutions, including a call for proposed head lease arrangements. Under this model, the District would lease units from landlords and sublease them to residents in need, helping encourage new construction and lower rental costs.
A Request for Information is now open on the District’s website, with responses due by September 15. Future topics in the series will cover planning reforms, homeownership supports, and infrastructure investments.
