Smith says the deficit is improving faster than expected
Parry Sound–Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith says Ontario’s latest economic update shows progress on two key fronts — health care and the deficit.
Smith says the province’s $1.1 billion investment over three years in home care and hospital-to-home programs will help improve services locally, especially as new hospitals are redeveloped in Bracebridge and Huntsville.
On the fiscal side, Smith says Ontario’s deficit is improving faster than expected, with a surplus projected by 2027–28. He calls it a strong signal that the province can balance responsible spending with key investments.
