Police have provide tips to make Halloween safe for everyone

OPP are reminding residents to stay safe this Halloween. Rain is expected on October 31st, reducing visibility, so drivers should be extra alert.

Parents are urged to ensure costumes are visible and fit properly, use face paint instead of masks, and accompany young children.

Police say trick-or-treaters should stick to well-lit homes, use sidewalks, never enter strangers’ homes or vehicles, and wait to eat candy until they’re home.

Homeowners are asked to keep outdoor lights on, clear hazards, and use battery-operated candles in pumpkins. Drivers are reminded to slow down in residential areas, watch for children, and never drive under the influence.

The OPP encourages everyone to plan ahead, dress for the weather, and enjoy a safe and happy Halloween.
