This is the second medal Oldham will bring home for the Milano Olympic Games
Parry Sound’s Megan Oldham has struck Olympic gold yesterday in freestyle skiing, adding to the bronze she won in slopestyle earlier at the Milano-Cortina Games.
The 24-year-old from Parry Sound scored 180.75 points across her two best jumps in the women’s big air final, narrowly edging China’s Eileen Gu.
This makes Oldham just the third Canadian athlete at these Games to earn multiple medals, joining freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury and short track speed skater Courtney Sarault. She says the victory is the culmination of years of hard work and a personal redemption after finishing off the podium in Beijing four years ago.
