Former Chief Climatologist David Phillips says winter will give way to warmer temps
With old man Winter still hanging around, there are now signs that spring weather is finally on the way.
Former Environment Canada climatologist Dave Phillips says the region has seen unusually consistent cold and above-average snowfall, with nearly every recent day bringing wintry conditions.
He says March is essentially a write-off, but more seasonal temperatures are expected to arrive in early April, followed by a warmer shift by mid-month.
Phillips adds early indications point to a warmer-than-normal summer, offering some relief after a harsh winter.
