The announcement included funds for the CNIB camp at Lake Joseph and a Metis youth camp in Burk's Falls
Parry Sound–Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith announced $3.2 million in provincial funding for two local projects yesterday.
The Canadian National Institute for the Blind’s Lake Joseph Centre in Muskoka will receive support to build a new multi-purpose facility, including Canada’s first purpose-built goalball court for athletes who are blind or have low vision.
The Métis Nation of Ontario’s Children and Youth Camp in Burk’s Falls will also receive more than $230,000 for upgrades to expand amenities and improve accessibility.
Smith says the investments will create opportunities for youth, families, and seniors while strengthening the local economy.
