The tax kicks in this fall
Bracebridge is bringing in a Municipal Accommodation Tax this fall. Starting October 1, visitors will pay a 4% tax per room night—similar to what’s already in place in Huntsville and Gravenhurst.
Half the revenue will go toward local tourism promotion, managed by a new service corporation with input from the accommodation sector. The other half will support community services and infrastructure.
The town says feedback from local businesses helped shape the plan during last summer’s consultations.
