Bay favourites Mountain Head hit Huntsville Friday

Wednesday, 13 August 2025 12:38

Canadian alt-rock duo Mountain Head hits Canvas Brewing in Huntsville this Friday. Expect psychedelic grooves, hits like We Stole Your Head, and a high-energy, mind-bending live show.

This Friday, August 15, Canvas Brewing Co. in Huntsville will be humming with a unique brand of energy as Mountain Head takes the stage. The Canadian alt-rock duo from Georgetown is set to deliver a mind-bending, psych-rock show that promises to stick with listeners long after the final chord fades.

Mountain Head is the brainchild of the Hannah Brothers. Their origin story reads like folklore: on a journey through the wilderness, they encountered a shaman atop a remote mountain. That encounter unleashed their creativity, and Mountain Head was born. Their look and spirit channel Johnny Cash, Flavor Flav, and Billy Gibbons—imagine black denim, gold grills, long beards, and shadowed eyes under wide-brimmed hats. Musically, they blend psych-rock, alt-rock, electro-pop, and jangly pop into something potent and original.

Mountain Head is a Hunters Bay Radio favourite and even landed multiple Top-40 hits in Canada. Their signature track, “We Stole Your Head” is what they refer to as their flagship—it captures their distinctive sound, look, and groove.

Other songs originally played by The Bay’s Sarah Coombs include, Shimmy Shimmy Ya, Piranha, It's What It Takes, Your Own Ocean, and Gaslight.

Their cover of “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” even attracted attention from the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, who featured it across their social media platforms.

Mountain Head are renowned for the energy they bring to the stage. Their live show isn't just about sound—it’s about letting go and feeling something raw and electric.
