The rehabilitation of the bridge is expected to be complete by the end of 2026
The District of Muskoka is moving ahead with major bridge repairs.
Clearwater Structures Inc. has been awarded a $2.4 million contract to rehabilitate the Silver Bridge. When combined with emergency repair funds and other project costs, the total comes to $7.5 million.
Council debated the high price and whether the historic bridge needed such extensive work, but agreed the repairs are necessary. District Chair Jeff Lehman says both projects were already part of the capital plan.
The rehabilitation work aims to begin in 2026.
