The FireSmart program was highlighted as a key tool, encouraging homeowners to create protective zones around structures by clearing combustibles near buildings and managing vegetation farther out to slow fire spread.
Fire officials say preparedness is a shared responsibility, and that applying these measures can improve property survival and strengthen community resilience during wildfire events.
