Residents in the Muskoka River Watershed are being warned of damaged safety barriers and urged to use caution
The Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a water safety bulletin for the Muskoka River watershed, including the Bracebridge area, through May 22.
Officials say recent high-water conditions may have damaged safety barriers, booms and signage near dams and waterways, and residents are being urged to use extreme caution around rivers, lakes and flooded areas.
The Town of Bracebridge says some trails and infrastructure have also been affected by flooding, while cleanup and damage assessments continue.
Residents dealing with flood debris can still access disposal support through the District of Muskoka voucher program, which remains in effect until May 25.
