The ban includes charcoal bbq's and fireworks
As of today, a total fire ban is in effect across Muskoka due to rapidly worsening dry conditions. The Muskoka Fire Chiefs have raised the fire danger rating to extreme.
The ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including charcoal barbecues and fireworks. Community signage has been updated to reflect the new rating.
Officials are asking short-term rental owners to inform their guests about the fire ban to help raise awareness and prevent any accidental fire risks.
