The Muskoka Fire Chiefs have declared a total fire ban and all fires including for cooking or warmth are prohibited
Muskoka’s fire danger rating has been raised to extreme, and a total fire ban is now in place until further notice.
All outdoor fires are prohibited, including fires used for cooking or warmth, and fireworks are not permitted.
Fire officials are warning residents to use extra caution with anything that can create heat or sparks, including tools, vehicles on dry grass, and propane appliances.
The rating will continue to be monitored until enough rainfall is received to reduce the risk.
