The driver was arrested for impaired
Huntsville OPP say quick action by witnesses helped prevent a possible tragedy on Highway 35.
Just after 5:30 last Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a vehicle stopped in a live lane in Lake of Bays. Police found a man in the driver’s seat and determined he was impaired.
A fifty-seven-year-old Markham man has been charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol. He’ll appear in court in January.
Police say the call from motorists may have prevented injuries on the road.
