According to a media report, the Greens agreed to pull candidates in other ridings in exchange for the liberals not running a candidate in PSM
Graydon Smith says the Ontario Greens tried to undermine local democracy in Parry Sound–Muskoka. The PC incumbent calls it “shady, backroom dealing” after a report in Policorner.ca says the Greens offered to pull their candidates in other riding if the Liberals agreed not to run in Parry Sound Muskoka during last year’s snap election.
The Liberals refused, but ran what some describe as a “paper candidate.” Smith went on to win easily.
The Greens defend the proposal as an attempt to cooperate against the PCs, but Liberals call it undemocratic.
