The updated policy takes effect for the summer season
Ontario is loosening alcohol rules in provincial parks ahead of the summer season.
The provincial government says adults will now be allowed to responsibly consume alcohol in most public areas of Ontario Parks, including beaches and picnic sites, not just at individual campsites.
Officials say the change is aimed at improving visitor experience and supporting tourism, while maintaining safety rules around impaired behaviour and restricted zones.
The updated policy takes effect for the 2026 season as parks across the province prepare for increased summer visitation.
