The police focused on "high risk behaviours"
Ontario Provincial Police are reporting dozens of charges following ATV Safety Week across Central Region.
Between June 1st and 7th, officers from 13 OPP detachments and the Central Region SAVE Unit carried out enforcement and education initiatives on trail systems, focusing on rider safety and high-risk behaviour.
Police conducted helmet and document checks, alcohol screenings, and community outreach activities. In total, officers laid 72 charges and issued 70 warnings.
Violations included dangerous driving, operating without insurance, helmet infractions, equipment deficiencies, and other Off-Road Vehicle Act offences.
