The province invested nearly $500,000
The province announced yesterday that they are investing almost half a million dollars in public transit for the region as part of this year’s Gas Tax Program.
Huntsville will receive over $176,000, while Bracebridge will get just over $150,000 and the District of Muskoka, $90,000.
The Town of Parry Sound will also see $56,000 in new funding to improve local routes, expand service hours, and support accessible transportation.
MPP Graydon Smith says the province is “investing in local transit to give people in Bracebridge, Huntsville, Parry Sound, and throughout Muskoka more ways to connect with work, school and the people and places that matter most to them.”
The money is part of a larger $380 million province-wide investment aimed at making transit more reliable and inclusive.
