Hundreds gathered to sample food from Huntsville eateries and raise funds for Meals on Wheels
A new community fundraising event in Huntsville is being called a major success after raising significant support for local seniors.
The first-ever “Bowls and Bites” event sponsored by The Bay Food Crew in support of Meals on Wheels North Muskoka brought together guests for an evening of food, music, and fundraising under unexpectedly perfect weather conditions.
Organizers say the event raised about $30,000, with funds going toward helping deliver meals to seniors and vulnerable residents across the region.
They also say most attendees learned more about how the program serves people of all ages in need, not just seniors, helping expand awareness in the community.
Volunteers and organizers are now hoping the momentum continues, encouraging ongoing donations and support for meal delivery services across North Muskoka.
