Currently all services are consolidated in Huntsville
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says it’s still reviewing how to move forward with labour and delivery services in the region after temporarily consolidating those services at the Huntsville hospital.
The MAHC says that weekly meetings are underway with Ontario Health and the Ministry of Health to assess safety, system capacity, and long-term options.
Emergency care is still available in Bracebridge, but births are only happening in Huntsville for now.
Hospital leaders say they're committed to finding a safe and sustainable solution, with more updates expected soon.
