MAHC is monitoring conditions and are preparing to make changes
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is preparing for the annual respiratory illness season, with hospitals expecting an increase in flu, COVID-19, RSV, and other viruses through the fall and winter.
The hospital organization says it’s monitoring local illness levels and could adjust masking rules, visitor guidelines, and outbreak protocols to protect vulnerable patients.
MAHC is asking residents to stay home when sick, keep vaccinations up to date, wash their hands regularly, and cover coughs and sneezes. Visitors are also reminded to follow infection prevention requirements when entering the hospital.
