The program is expanding out of Muskoka/Parry Sound
Lakeland EV Charging is expanding its fast-charging network across the region after securing nearly $2 million in federal funding.
The money, through Natural Resources Canada’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program, will support 26 new Level 3 fast-charging ports at nine additional station locations.
The project will stretch Lakeland’s network beyond Muskoka and Parry Sound into new areas, including planned sites in Haliburton and Barry’s Bay, with completion expected by late 2027.
Company officials say the expansion will make EV travel more reliable between small towns and tourism destinations while supporting local economies.
