The rebuild will affect King William St. from Scott Street to Hwy 60
The District of Muskoka is moving ahead with a major infrastructure rebuild on King William Street in Huntsville, with work expected to begin soon and continue through the end of 2026.
The project covers the stretch from Scott Street to Highway 60 and is designed to upgrade aging water, wastewater, and road systems while increasing capacity for an estimated 3,200 new homes in the area.
Officials say the work includes full replacement of underground services as well as road surfaces, sidewalks, and traffic infrastructure.
District Chair Jeff Lehman says the project is essential groundwork for future development, improving safety and preparing the corridor for long-term growth.
During construction, parts of King William Street will be reduced to limited or one-way traffic, but access to businesses and emergency services will be maintained throughout the project.
