This is year two of "The Mayor's Budget"
Huntsville council will review the 2026 Mayor’s Budget at a special meeting on November 13th at 9 a.m.
The budget, the second year of a two-year plan, proposes a $1.67 million increase to fund day-to-day services and projects, keeping the estimated tax rate rise at 4.87 per cent.
For a home assessed at $300,000, that’s an extra $73 next year. Mayor Nancy Alcock says the multi-year approach gives staff and council more foresight for planning.
Municipal taxes support roads, parks, recreation, fire services, transit, and more, with the remainder going to district services and education.
