One fire included two vehicles and a carport engulfed in flames
Yesterday, the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department responded to two calls just minutes apart, underscoring the importance of following local burning by-laws.
The Fire Dept. says the first involved materials being burned outside municipal regulations, with no structures affected.
Minutes later, firefighters arrived at a residential property on East Waseosa Lake Road, where two vehicles and a carport were fully engulfed, with flames spreading to the exterior of the home.
Thanks to rapid action, the fire was contained, preventing further damage. No injuries were reported, but preliminary losses exceed $250,000.
Fire crews remind residents to burn safely and follow regulations to keep emergency resources available.
