The red chair will be replaced next year
Hidden Valley Ski Area in Huntsville is announcing major investments aimed at modernizing the ski hill over the next several years.
The biggest project is the replacement of the Red Chairlift with a new fixed-grip quad chair from Leitner Poma.
Installation is planned for summer 2027, with the new lift expected to be operating for the 2027-28 ski season. It will have 48 chairs and run faster than the current lift, increasing capacity and reducing wait and ride times.
Hidden Valley is also continuing upgrades to its snowmaking system and plans to make improvements to the Terrain Park.
The ski area says the projects are part of a long-term investment in Hidden Valley and its role in the Muskoka community.
