The reproduction of "Spring on the Oxtongue River" is being brought to life by Janine Marson & Gerry Lantaigne
A piece of Muskoka’s art history is being brought back to life.
A recreation of the Group of Seven mural “Spring, on the Oxtongue River” will be unveiled for the Region’s Gallery Collection.
Local artists say the work connects the community to its roots, while visitors to the Oxtongue River are reminded of the landscapes that inspired Canada’s most famous painters.
Algonquin Outfitters staff, who see people explore those same waters every day, says the mural is a reminder of how deeply art and nature are tied in this region.
