Fire crews located 2 groups missing over the weekend
The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department handled two separate rescues over the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, June 21, crews from three stations used utility terrain vehicles to locate three people lost on an ATV trail. They were found safe after about two and a half hours.
Then Sunday evening, firefighters from Huntsville and Hillside responded to a missing paddler on the Big East River. Marine units located her and brought her to safety just after 10 p.m.
The department is urging residents and visitors to be prepared when exploring remote areas.
