The occupants got out safely. Damage estimates are being assessed.
Early yesterday morning, firefighters battled a structure fire on Brunel Road in Lake of Bays. The home’s smoke alarms alerted the occupant, who safely escaped and called 911.
Crews from Huntsville and surrounding stations, along with EMS, Hydro One, and OPP, spent six hours extinguishing the blaze.
No injuries were reported. The cause and damage estimates are still under investigation.
Officials remind residents: working smoke alarms save lives—test them monthly and call 911 immediately if they sound.
