All open air burning is strictly prohibited
The Township of Strong has joined Fire Dept’s in Muskoka and Kearney by elevating its Fire Danger Rating to EXTREME.
The township says this change signifies a heightened fire risk, and as a result, all open-air burning is now strictly prohibited.
The fire ban includes campfires, brush piles, and any other outdoor fires.
Furthermore, the municipality says that under the Open Air Burning By-law, fireworks are not permitted during an extreme fire rating. If you witness any open-air burning, please contact 911 immediately.
