Residents from across the region felt the earth move
Rumblings were felt here yesterday as a minor earthquake shook parts of the Ottawa Valley.
According to Earthquakes Canada, the quake hit around 12:36 p.m., registering a magnitude of 3.9 at a depth of 13 kilometres. The epicentre was about 20 kilometres northeast of Shawville, Quebec.
Tremors were reported from Arnprior to Pembroke, with residents in Oxtongue among those noticing the shaking.
The area has a history of seismic activity, including a 5.2 magnitude quake in 2013.
No damage has been reported.
