So far the program reaches 225 kids
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has officially arrived in Muskoka. The program mails free, age-appropriate books each month to children under five, helping spark a lifelong love of reading.
Locally, the Lake of Bays Imagination Library has been running since 2023, sending books to about 100 children, while Muskoka West began in 2024, reaching 75 kids. The newest program, the Gravenhurst Imagination Library, launched in September, and currently serves 55 children, with plans to expand.
The initiative, part of Dolly Parton’s global program, has gifted over 300 million books worldwide, giving every child one book per month from birth to age five—completely free. Community support is now being sought to grow the program in Gravenhurst.
