The new community hub and food bank is volunteer run, with 98% of all donations going to food and programming
Volunteers and supporters came together yesterday at Trinity United Church to celebrate the one-year anniversary of The Corner Lighthouse.
Organizers Lynn Doyle and Paula Brundia recognized the efforts of volunteers and the ongoing support of The Bay Food Crew and Bullock's Independent Grocer, totaling more than $120,000 in contributions.
In its first year, the food bank and community hub has grown to help over 850 people each month.
Board president Beth Britain emphasized that The Corner Lighthouse is more than a food bank—it’s a place that cares for the community, offering guidance, support, and connection for those in need.
The event highlighted the power of local volunteers and community partnerships in making a meaningful difference.
The Bay Food Crew is Hunters Bay Radio, Bullock’s Independent Grocer, Dairy Lane Dental, and DBR Marketing.
