The Weather Network is forecasting a colder than usual start to winter
Ontario is set for a colder-than-usual start to winter, according to the Weather Network’s seasonal forecast.
Meteorologist Doug Gillham says December and January will bring a “December to remember,” with Arctic air and a weak La Nina pushing temperatures below recent norms.
The province can also expect more frequent winter weather than in recent years, including above-normal snowfall, particularly leading up to and through the holidays.
Southern and Central Ontario may see snow squalls and lake-effect storms, making travel tricky, but ski resorts are expected to be well-covered for the season.
A white Christmas looks likely for much of the province, though exact snowfall will vary by region.
