Bracebridge driver released on bail after fatal Highway 11 crash

Monday, 9 March 2026 15:00

Charges stem from alleged road-rage collision that killed Toronto motorcyclist last fall

A Bracebridge man charged in a deadly Highway 11 crash last fall has been granted bail.

Thirty-seven-year-old Donald Austin was released on strict house arrest with a GPS ankle monitor and a $40,000 pledge from family members. He had been in custody since October.

Ontario Provincial Police say the charges stem from a crash October 6th near Line 15 in Oro-Medonte that killed 27-year-old Harnoor Singh of Toronto, who was riding a motorcycle. Witnesses reported a possible road-rage confrontation before the collision.

Austin faces charges including impaired and dangerous driving causing death and is due back in court in Orillia in April. The allegations have not been tested in court.
