Michael Ankenmann announced his candidacy on Friday
A new candidate is entering the race for Brunel Ward on Huntsville Town Council.
Michael Ankenmann officially launched his campaign Friday, promising what he calls a return to basics at Town Hall. Ankenmann is a professional engineer and former executive director of Camp Mini-Yo-We, and also heads Huntsville's local CAP Debt Centre.
His platform focuses on limiting tax increases, improving municipal services, simplifying the planning process and preserving Huntsville's character as the community grows. Ankenmann says property taxes have increased nearly 30 per cent over the past four years. He'll face incumbent Monty Clouthier in the October 26th municipal election.
