Many roads were washed out and municipalities were cautioning residents to stay home
Almaguin is still drying out after a record-breaking downpour Sunday night that flooded roads and stunned residents.
More than 150 millimetres of rain fell in just 18 hours, washing out dozens of roads across the region. Five area municipalities declared significant weather events.
As of this morning, cleanup is underway. Some roads remain closed, but many are passable with caution. Water levels may continue to rise in South River over the next 48 hours.
Residents are urged to stay alert, watch for updates from their local township, and be careful near bodies of water.
