Liberal Candidate Geordie Sabbagh urged him to support the good work being done across the region
Conservative MP Scott Aitchison is heading back to Ottawa after what he called a tough election. With over 50% of the popular vote, Aitchison thanked voters for returning him to Parliament to sit in his chair in the house of commons, - a chair that belongs to the people of Parry Sound–Muskoka.
He pledged to continue representing their voices in Ottawa.
Meanwhile, Liberal candidate Geordie Sabbagh thanked supporters following his loss.
Sabbagh called it a privilege to run and says he's proud of the community members working to build a better Canada. While disappointed by the local result, he says he's happy the Liberals won nationally, calling it a stand for Canadian values.
He also had a message for MP-elect Scott Aitchison—urging him to support the good work being done across the riding.
The NDP came in a distant third with 3.6% of the vote and the PPC at 1.6%.
