For years, The Bay 88.7 has been a trusted voice in Muskoka—bringing local news, community information, diverse music, and unique programming to listeners throughout the region. Today, we're asking for your help to ensure that voice continues to be heard.

Community Radio is Different

The Bay is not for profit, locally owned and volunteer-driven. We're not part of a large media corporation, and we're not programmed from a distant head office. Every day, local volunteers donate their time, talent, and passion to create programming that reflects the people and communities we serve.

Our hosts aren't following a corporate playlist or an algorithm. They're sharing music they love, stories that matter, and conversations that connect our community.

A Listening Experience You Can't Find Anywhere Else

Radio has changed dramatically over the years. Many stations now rely on tightly controlled playlists, playing the same songs over and over. In some places, even classic rock has become increasingly difficult to find.

At The Bay, we believe great music deserves better.

Our volunteers carefully curate programs featuring classic rock, folk, blues, country, alternative, local artists, emerging talent, and the songs you haven't heard in years but still know every word to.

We introduce listeners to new music while celebrating the favourites they've loved for decades.

It's not an algorithm.

It's not a playlist downloaded from the city.

It's real people sharing great music with their neighbours.

More Than a Radio Station

The Bay is deeply invested in the community we serve.

Since our launch, we've helped raise and donate more than $750,000 for local charities, non-profits, and community organizations, including:

• Hospice Huntsville
• Mind-Aid Muskoka
• The Legion
• Terry Fox Run
• Eliven Cancer Care
• The Corner Lighthouse
• Manna Food Bank
• The Table

Why We Need Your Help

Here's something many people don't realize:

That $750,000 wasn't used to operate The Bay.

Those funds were raised for community organizations and local causes—not for the radio station itself.

The Bay receives no government funding. While advertising and sponsorships help offset some of our expenses, they don't cover the full cost of operating a community radio station year-round.

Like any organization, we have real operating costs:

• Transmitter and broadcast equipment
• Music licensing fees
• Software and technology
• Utilities and internet services
• Insurance and maintenance
• Ongoing improvements to keep us on the air

Simply put, community radio cannot survive on passion alone.
